Founder & CEO
Kornukopia was John’s brain child and has grown from a simple idea to a life mission. Starting as a technical engineer with AT&T 30 years ago, John has always had an interest in technology. John has started, sold and continues to run multiple businesses and internet start-ups.
John’s past corporate experience includes AT&T, Verizon, Genuity, BBN Planet, IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds an BS/MIS from Fairfield University, an MBA/MIS from St. Peter’s College and a MCPM form George Washington University.
CTO & VP of Development
Cody, founder of Elligson, LLC, heads Kornukopia’s development. Focusing on implementation of new and innovative features, Cody’s team of developers and designers have developed the Kornukopia Learning Management System (LMS) from the ground up.
Cody is a graduate of the Fairfield University’s Charles F. Dolan School of Business with a BS in Information Systems & Operations Management. He is an experienced technologist, having developed a number of award-winning applications in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry.
Dr. John F. Shine
Dr. John F. Shine is Kornukopia’s Chief Education Officer. Dr. Shine has over 50 years in the education industry. He has held positions as a Teacher, Principal, and Superintendent of Schools. He has worked in the public school systems of both New York and Connecticut.
John’s last three positions were: Superintendent of Schools for Catskill, New York; Superintendent of Schools for Torrington, Connecticut; Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of Norwich, Connecticut. Dr. Shine works with Kornukopia to ensure the Kornukopia is always working in the best interest of the educator. Dr. Shine earned his PhD in Education from the University of Connecticut.
VP of Partner & Customer Relations
Christine’s team manages satisfaction and support for Kornukopia’s customers and partners. Christine works closely with classroom teachers, district administrators and technology experts guiding educators to find innovative ways to integrate technology to improve teaching and learning.
Christine has held many positions in education: teacher, guidance counselor and college admissions officer. She has both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education from Long Island University in Brooksville, New York.
Sara Sherman brings more than seven years of public relations, marketing and social media experience to the Kornukopia team. A Drake University graduate, she began her career serving clients in the travel, agriculture and real estate industries in a public relations agency setting. Later, a four-year position with a successful Midwest not-for-profit institution allowed for Sara to hone her skills in communicating with a dedicated public and created marketing campaigns and events that brought more than 40,000 guests through the doors.
Sara oversees social media efforts and front-line communications with clients and partners for Kornukopia. She works tirelessly to expose the education industry to the great service the Kornukopia Learning Management System (LMS) offers.
